Revelation 3:20 (KJV)
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
This verse is one of the most powerful invitations in Scripture. It reveals the heart of Jesus—gentle, patient, and full of love. He does not force His way into our lives. Instead, He stands at the door and knocks, waiting for us to respond.
Many people think this verse is only for salvation, but it is also for believers. Even after we accept Christ, there are still areas of our hearts we keep closed. Sometimes we shut the door to Him because of fear, past hurts, disappointment, or the desire to stay in control. Yet Jesus continues to knock, inviting us into deeper fellowship with Him.
The beautiful promise in this scripture is not just that He will enter, but that He will sup with us. In biblical times, sharing a meal represented intimacy, relationship, and peace. Jesus is not only asking to come into your life—He desires a close, personal relationship with you. He wants to sit with you in your struggles, your questions, your victories, and your daily journey.
Today, pause and ask yourself:
Are there doors in my heart that I have kept closed to Jesus?
Is there an area of my life where I need to surrender and trust Him more?
The moment you open the door, you will experience His presence, His peace, and His transforming power. No matter how long it has been, His invitation still stands.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your patience and Your love. Thank You for never giving up on me. Today, I choose to open every door of my heart to You. Remove fear, pride, and anything that keeps me from fully surrendering. Come into every area of my life and fill me with Your peace and Your presence. Help me to grow in a deeper relationship with You each day.
In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏🏽
